This is the story of my Initiation ~
Just weeks after giving birth to my daughter, I nearly died. I lost most of the blood in my body and traveled between the worlds. When I heard the doctors say they’d remove my womb to save my life, I rose from the dead with a profound, “No!”
I’d finally found my voice.
From that ‘no’ blossomed a ‘YES’. From that nightmare blossomed a vision. From this Initiation blossomed my life’s work.
“At some point in your life the stakes get higher. A knowing rises up from deep within you. From deep down below your gut, from somewhere close to the womb, a voice rises up and says, ‘Speak or die, woman. Speak or die.’”
But that’s not the whole story.
My journey now heads towards joy, magic, and magnificence ~ and away from those hell realms that I traveled through. I’ve befriended my own pain and chaos. Yet I’ve let go of the terror, anger, and grief that reverberated through me for years after this experience.
If I could tell you the story today, it’d be different. Click here to read more.
…Soon after my daughter was born, I found myself dancing to African drums before an altar for the Great Mother. During that ritual dance, I received my life’s purpose with unmistakable clarity:
A voice within spoke, “I am to be a midwife.”
For some time, I took this literally. I trained as a birth and postpartum doula, learned womb massage, and initiated groups of women into motherhood. Yet I quickly recognized that my offering transcends literal motherhood. I’m a midwife of creativity, magic, and magnificence, for all women.
We all long to birth our courage, visions, voices, and beauty.
And the world is hungry for our creations.
We need the encouragement of women who’ve come before us, and the support of those who we are birthing right beside us. We long to connect with each other, ourselves, and the feminine magic that’s within each one of us. As we do, we co-create a wildly beautiful world together.
Along the way, I adorn the path with lush rose petals. I cajole the laughter and tears. I nurture our visions, recall our devotion, and rouse our celebration for this precious life.
